Two storey extension & internal reconfiguration
The original stone cottage had been previously extended and adapted but in a fairly haphazard and unsympathetic way. A plastic conservatory occupied the central part of the ground floor that typically provided unsatisfactory quality of space that was either too cold in winter or too warm in summer. The brief was to make better use of the ground floor space by opening up some of the rooms to create a large kitchen dining space, provide an additional bedroom with en-suite at first floor and extend the small family bathroom.
The clients were keen to improve the levels of daylight into the house at both levels.
